As the largest known limestone cave in the Western Hemisphere, Carlsbad Caverns National Park in New Mexico, is truly a site to see. When you visit, may I make a suggestion? Take the trail down to the cave entrance, and descend into the Caverns via the pathway. This way, you will see more of the cave, its otherworldly formations, and your eyes can be accustomed to the darkness as you walk downwards. When you have seen the entire cavern, you can take the elevator back up to the top, right inside the Visitor Center.
