Continuing our exploration of Utah’s National Parks, (there are five of them ((!)),) today’s video captures Capitol Reef. This park may not get as many visitors as other parks in Utah, but it is worthwhile to visit. As I have said before, it seems to me that most of Utah is one big, beautiful, red rock park. I will cover the final two (Zion and Bryce Canyon) in the next two posts.

Some wonder why I post original songs with my videos. I do it because I feel the videos are better with music in them, and it gives me a chance to get some of my artwork out “there” on the internet. I don’t ever expect to get any money. It’s all about sharing my songs, photos, videos, and art for art’s sake.

You may call me foolish. But I am just in keeping with those who came before, such as:

  1. Geoffrey Chaucer (1343-1400.) He was compensated by King Edward III for writing the classic, “The Canterbury Tales,” with a gallon of wine a day, for life!

2. John Milton (1608-1674). Given only a 5 pound advance for “Paradise Lost.”

3. Edgar Allen Poe (1809-1849). Was paid a $14 book advance for “Eureka,” and that was partially refunded due to lack of sales!

4. Henry Miller (1891-1980). Made just $500 for the book advance copy of “The Air-Conditioned Nightmare.”

These are some of the examples I know about, The list* also includes Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Harriet Beecher Stowe, and Stephen King. If you are a budding artist, I say “keep trying, have perseverance.” And, keep doing it if you love it.
