Today we see Zion National Park in Utah, USA. Although perhaps not as ecologically diverse as Yellowstone and the Tetons, (i.e., geysers, wildlife, snow, lakes, rivers, mountaintops,) Zion has nearly as many natural landscapes to explore. There are trails along the Virgin River (in the Narrows) and up to the tops of mountains (at Angel’s Landing.) There are swirling red checkerboard vistas to view, (on the other side of the tunnel,) as well as another diverse environment to hike in and explore (Kolob Terrace north on I-15.) Zion is also the only place I’ve ever visited where I saw a wild tarantula!
The swing music on the video is a song I just wrote that I call “Love in Hand.” It’s the story of two people who, unfortunately, let their love slip away. It starts in 5/4 time, speeds up to vivace tempo for the drum solo, then continues back in the jazz style to completion. This musical styling intends to the depict their relationship — new, interesting, and awkward in the beginning, hot and heavy in the middle, and then a slower, loss of interest, pace until the relationship’s end. Sigh, we probably all know this song.
I’ll be back in two weeks with a video show about Bryce Canyon.
