Happy Veteran’s Day – a national holiday!
I awoke this morning to a 4.8 Richter scale magnitude earthquake on the island. But it was no big deal. It used to happen all the time where I grew up in California’s Bay Area, in the Navy port town of Alameda. It seems fitting, on Veteran’s Day, to remember my military ties and the power of Mother Nature, both on the same day. Neither should be taken for granted. As much as one needs land that nourishes, one needs freedom to reach one’s full potential – as a human, as a nation.
I salute those who preserve our freedom and serve our country.
