Read the title above, and say the capital city of France, “Paris,” as a citizen of Paris would say it — Pwahr-ee, Pear-ee, or Par-ee. The title flows and rhymes like the rhythm and nature of daily life itself in the city. Living in Paris can be as simple as watching people in a cafe, boats on the river, or players in a park. Or, life can be as nuanced and detailed as frieze statues on a building, metalwork on a bridge, or the landmark Arc de Triomphe and its roundabout (try getting in and out without watchfulness!)

For Parisians, (and “temporary Parisians” [travelers,]) what these sites have in common are that they are all free to see. Whether you stroll the tree-lined Champs Elysees, the sun-kissed Seine Promenade, or a cozy and historic neighborhood such as the Marais, you view great art and architecture as well as people going about their lives. It is always interesting, and admission-free (great for families and budget-minded people like myself.)

A few of these fee-free places are included in the following video. You probably have some of your own. Better yet, you surely will find new favorites next time you visit the capital of France, Paris. Bonjour!
