Did you know that the “Rockies” – the Rocky Mountains – are the longest mountain range in North America, and the second longest on Earth? At 3,000 miles (4,800 km) long, the mountains range through seven States (New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Washington,) and two Canadian Provinces (British Columbia, Alberta.) Within this area are some of the most spectacular parks you will ever find, such as Banff, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Glacier, and for today’s video, Rocky Mountain National Park.
Many of the photographs in the video are from the scenic Trail Ridge Road (US 34,) which climbs above the tree line to a height of 12,183 feet. From atop the mountains, grassy/rocky tundra welcome you with spring/summer flowers, sunning marmots, and stunning views. From this path in the sky, you see the mountains stretch far off into the distance in both directions. Far below, forested mountain moraines and alpine lakes beckon you to return to earth with their beauty.
Look around, you just might want to follow the Rocky Mountain range from start to finish one day.
