On my way back to the west coast, I stopped at national parks in Colorado that were quite impressive. I was able to grab a campsite at Pinon Flats campground in Great Sand Dunes National Park. There, I hiked and climbed the highest sand dunes on the North American continent. At Rocky Mountain National Park, I camped and enjoyed the flora and fauna up to 12,000 feet of elevation (above the tree line.) The road through the park is the highest continuous roadway in America, elevation-wise. So, I had a couple of “high” points in my travels- ha! (See photo page ‘Great Sand Dunes/Rocky Mountain National Parks’ via the Main Menu.)
Another first for myself and the Wonder was a warranty-covered repair session at the dealer. During my “shakedown” travels, a few things happened to the RV that needed repair. Much like most big mechanical vehicles, things shake loose, need tweaking, or were forgotten in the manufacturing process that can be repaired under warranty. The engine, “truck”-part of the vehicle is covered by Ford, but the “coach,’ living area of the RV is covered by the Leisure Travel. I am leaving the Wander for 10 days at the repair shop. During that time, I am taking Amtrak around the loop from Davis to Chicago to Seattle back to Davis.
