As you know by now, people have been talking about “flattening the curve” in combating the coronavirus pandemic. In this case, we agree a lower “u” shape curve is better than a higher “v” shape curve, or worse yet, a linear line straight off the chart representing deaths over time. Through prescribed social mitigation, we are seeing the effects of our combined actions — the v-shape curve is turning to a u-shape.
This brought me around to today’s video, “Didn’t Take the U-Turn.” It’s a song about a breakup, where one person goes in one direction while the other person goes in another. They never return to that point in their relationship when they came together in the first place. Sometimes it pays to slow down a bit and consider what you have. In other words, take that u-turn to a place you share. And, if you are still not happy, take another u-turn out of there!
The video contains photographs from some of the United States of America’s national parks that display u-shape mountain valleys. Geologically, they were created by glaciers wearing through solid rock. They are all beautiful in their own space, and show how nature adores the u over time. Thank heaven’s for the u shape!
