There is a section on the Rhine River, called the romantic Rhine, where castles populate both sides of the river. History was made and stories were told comparable to Camelot and the Tales of the Round Table. Because these castles, both Medieval and newer, are all in excellent condition, your intense imagination can take a holiday as you cruise a boat, train or vehicle along the banks of the Rhine, explore the green valleys created by the endless flow of water, experience the quaint villages along the shores, and enjoy the views.

Although many of the castles are not open to the public, you can still visit other featured architectural gems in person. (We will delve into some of them in upcoming posts.) For now, simply let these castles on the Rhine fuel your wanderlust and feed the quite-literal knowledge of time.
