We are going coast to coast from the previous post to today’s post, from the Gulf Coast to the Californian Bay Area-Bodega Bay Pacific Ocean Coast, on our tour of America’s National Parks, Memorials, and Monuments.
Point Reyes National Seashore is a special place. Of course, there is the sand and waves of the seashore, with all of the sea life you might view, such as sea lions and sea elephants, as long as you give them some space to relax on the shore. Then, there is the forest, where you can find Tule Elk, banana slugs, and other kinds of interesting flora and fauna. Also, don’t forget the history of the area, from Drakes Bay, where Sir Francis Drake most likely landed in North America on his 1579 circumnavigation of the world, to the infamous San Andreas fault line that heads out to the Pacific Ocean here. Wow! And we have not even talked about the fabulous dining close-by, where you will be served fresh crab from the Pacific and oysters from Tomales Bay.
So, watch this video of Point Reyes, and see it in person when you can. There is no park entrance fee–yippee!
